
A ground handling employee working for Delta Air Lines has died following an apron accident at Orlando International Airport.
The incident occurred on Thursday, May 7, when a pushback/tug vehicle collided with a jet bridge connected to a parked Delta Airbus A321 aircraft.
According to local media reports, the victim was identified as a 49-year-old Delta ground services employee based in Orlando. The medical examiner’s report stated that the cause of death was injuries resulting from severe blunt-force trauma.
In a statement, Delta Air Lines said: “The Delta family is heartbroken at the loss of a team member while on duty at Orlando Airport on the evening of May 7. Our priority is supporting the family and standing with our Orlando team during this difficult time.”
